Our weather has been one extreme or the other: Unusually hot and sticky for our typically temperate west coast or more predictably pouring with rain. I find late afternoon a challenging time to keep everyone ages nearly two to nearly eight happily engaged in meaningful and fun activities (read: not fussing and being mean to a sibling). This time when the boys and baby girl are entering what my sister aptly calls, “The Monster Hour” is of course exactly when I'm trying to get dinner prepped and ready.
Some days we listen to music and dance around (Youtube is especially fun to find our favourite songs on), other very organized days we do a craft, and still other times we put the younger two in the tub while we play an older kid game. Now, thanks to the referral from my cousin, we have found a really lovely children’s website that engages everyone. Even me between trips to the kitchen! It’s whimsical and interesting and seemingly endless. And entirely age-appropriate and safe. I love it! For those too-hot-to-play-outside or too-rainy-to-venture-outdoors days, check out: http://www.poissonrouge.com/ .
