Glowing hands, carefree hearts

I'm trying to find a receipt for my husband and need the children occupied. We're trying to (okay, I'm trying to) take it easy and gentle this morning before we head out this afternoon with our 97-year-old neighbour. We need to pace ourselves if everyone is going to be in the right temperment to walk about with a senior lady. What to do that's different here at home this rainy day? Painting didn't last as long as usual today... Everyone is getting a bit whingey and whiny. Then, in my search for this elusive bit of paper, I find the glow bracelets I'd purchased a few weeks ago to illuminate our tissue paper lanterns. Eureka!

Our downstairs is the perfect dark space for lots of fun with glowing bracelets. Each child got three and they dashed downstairs, a happy pack, to jump and bounce on mumma and daddy's bed. Here's a group shot that would have been much more fun with just the glowing swirls, but there you go. I was unsuccessful in turning off the flash on my digital camera and I have to find that receipt now so I musn't waste my time trying to get the perfect shot. But here's a view of happy faces and my husband's side of the closet because he never shuts the door to it!! If only you could hear their shrieks of laughter as they drive back the darkness.
