Remembering (as if babylost mothers can ever forget)

Today, October 15th, is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

I confess I didn't know about this day until after we lost our own full-term baby boy George in May of this year. Now I know.

I can't say anything about the importance of this day more eloquently than Sally at Tuesday's Hope . Check out Sally's blog and the video link she has posted, as well as a list of many babies who are very much missed by their bereaved parents.

Tonight I will join other parents of babies who died and light candles at seven o’clock to send a wave of light across the world in memory of our little angels.

Prayers for you today, Karen, and a hug across time and space. I am imagining your sweet George and all my babies in heaven, clasping hands today and praying for their mommies and daddies as they look down on us with love.

I will be remembering your George, and all the other babies whose Mommas have come to mean so much to me in this community, tonight when I go to visit Peyton and light her candle. Sending you hugs for comfort to get through this painful day.
